ScreamU is an innovative online and in-person horror talent search designed to uncover the next great horror stars! We are looking for passionate performers to showcase their talents in three categories: Scream Queen, Teen Queen, Heroic Lead, and Creature/Killer Star. 

The goal of ScreamU is to provide a platform for aspiring actors or horror enthusiasts to break into the genre, giving them the opportunity to gain exposure and possibly land roles in future ScreamU affiliated productions. Whether you’re an experienced actor or someone new to the horror scene, this competition is your chance to shine.

  • Online Monthly $500 plus role in Short Horror Film
  • In-Person Yearly $2500 plus role in Feature Horror Film

The ScreamU contest is open to all individuals who are legally able to work in the United States. Whether you’re an experienced actor or a horror enthusiast looking for a breakthrough, this is your opportunity to show off your scream-worthy talents!

There are no other specific requirements regarding acting experience, so we encourage participants from all backgrounds to join. If you meet the age and work eligibility criteria, we’d love to see what you can bring to ScreamU!

In our early testing there wasn't enough interest to support this category. If you really want us to make one, email us in the contact form below and let us know we were wrong. No one gets everything right.

Currently, Derek is directing, producing, and writing three feature-length horror films that are in active production. He has also completed a total of 20 film projects, including several shorts and features, establishing himself as a versatile and dynamic filmmaker in the horror community.


Derek’s unique ability to blend intense, character-driven narratives with chilling suspense continues to make him a rising talent in the world of independent horror cinema.
